James has always been drawn to the sea, and is a coastal New Englander by happy accident of birth.
His ancestors couldn't resist the lure of the sea either. They came from Ireland, Scotland, England, Sweden, and Hungary, following their fortunes, both good and bad, across the Atlantic to North America.
